To my surprise my desert Ka-Bar held up extremely well during my time in the middle east. For knives in this price range there are none better than this for tactical reasons. It was only preceded by my Extrema Ratio which is in the $400.00 range. Ka-Bar built a hell of a knife here. Only down side to it was the rubber handle in high heat tended to feel a little greasy which affected some control.
