  Product Information
With the Steadfast, Gerber re-introduces a classic knife from our past. The textured handle features finger grooves and a stainless steelGuard
Guard
Hand Guard: The guard is a barrier between your hand and the sharp edge. It will project out of the handle, to stop forward motion of your hand. The guard can be a separate component that is soldered or pinned on the blade, or an integral design element that can be formed by including a projection on the blade blank itself. On some fighters, the guards are meant not just to protect your hand from sliding up on the blade, but also to provide protection from the opponent's blade sliding down your blade and onto your hand.
for a safe and secure grip. The blade is a stainless steel Clip Point
Clip Point
Clip Point Blade: A blade on which the back line breaks and slants downward to produce a finer and more useful point. Also, a blade format where the top of the blade has a cutout (or "clip") at the top of the blade. The cutout is either concave or straight. Clipping the blade brings the point of the knife lower, for control. It also makes the tip sharper. Since the sharp point is one of the goals of this format, the clip is often accompanied by a false edge. This format is often combined with a good-sized curving belly, for slicing ability. The combination of a controllable, sharp point and plenty of belly makes the clip point an excellent all-around format.
; Nylon
Nylon
Nylon Material: A heavy-duty woven nylon fabric originally developed for use in bullet proof vests and personal body armor. Offers great durability in a lightweight sheath.
Sheath
Sheath
A method for carrying a knife, tool, light, etc., on your belt, pack or anywhere a strap is. Sheaths are made of ballistic nylon, leather, kydex and various other materials. Sheaths usually come with a Velcro or snap closure.
with protective insert included.

Hefty but well-balanced knife with a great non-slip handle. It is an excellent hard duty work knife for divers.

there are good knives, and there are great knives. thus knife is a great knife. i have been collecting fixed blade knives for 15 years now and never have i seen a knife with such great looks and still be a great cutting tool. this knife will cut for years with no damage if used properly and keep its great cutting edge. it also has that perfect weight and the handle grib is a great feature perfect for when holding for use. all in all id buy this knofe again in a heartbeat.

This is a excellent and well balanced weight knife, the sheath for mine has a 6-8 inch tassle on it. I wonder how old mine is?

2nd verse not as good as the first

I have used the original gerber lmf since the late 1980's, and currently have a rare brown version, and also have the steadfast. This knife is a good 30-40 dollar version, and similar but NOT exactly like the real deal. I like the kraton handle of the lmf much better, but the caveat there is the original lmf cost 100 bucks or so and on ebay for 150-200 now due to it's rareness. 30 bucks is a great deal of a knife if this quality and design.
