Imagine three super-bright L.E.D.
L.E.D.
L.E.D. Lights: Stands for Light Emitting Diode. L.E.D.s are tiny light bulbs that fit easily into an electrical circuit. But unlike ordinary incandescent bulbs, they don't have a filament that will burn out, and they don't get especially hot. They are illuminated solely by the movement of electrons in a semiconductor material, and they last just as long as a standard transistor. L.E.D. lights don't force your eyes to re-adjust every time you use them. That makes getting around in the dark much easier.
bulbs teaming together like commandos to generate overwhelming light at a range of 50 feet. That''s in the briefing on Gerber''s new Tritac Tactical light. A beast of compact L.E.D.

s, and as rugged as they come.

At just 4.6 ounces, you''ll hardly notice it among your gear. But when you grasp its black anodized
anodized
Anodized Material: A metal, typically aluminum, that has been coated with a protective or decorative layer of oxide, through a process of electrochemical conversion. The anodizing process affects the surface as well as the interior the metal. The anodized parts are quite durable, do not tarnish, resist abrasions, and maintain their cosmetic appearance for a long period of time.

s, you''ll notice that this is no ordinary light. To the contrary, this is the light for guys who demand that things are always done right.

It''s powered by two AA batteries, which we include. You can lock-off the switch to prevent accidental turn-on. Plus, you put the switch in permanent mode or intermittent signal mode.

Tritac LED light

Overall great design but the lack of lens cover to protect the bulbs and lack of sheath cover to keep the flashlight from falling out when working distracts from the overall performance

This light really comes in handy for me. I work on Diesel trucks, so whenever I go under a truck I got my light quick and handy thanks to the sheath that comes with it. It illuminates perfectly for me as I look for leaks and other problems on these pieces of equipment. I can honestly say that I will not leave the house without it as I am on my way to work everyday. Also, if you face the LED flashlight facing down in the sheath you dont have to worry about it falling out.

The torch is nicely machined from solid alloy and has a very good anodized finish. The rubber switch on the base is easy to use and allows flashes for signalling; it does not easily turn on by accident. The torch is less bright than others with hi-power LEDs and Lithium power; this is not a super bright 'tactical' torch like a NightOps Gladius etc. In daylight the light output may appear low, but in the dark the output is more than adequate, easily carrying to the end of my 60 yd garden. Both spread and focus (fixed) are ideal. Light quality is typical of LEDs - much whiter than bulb torches. I have been using a Tritac for over a year as an every-day-carry and as such it is near perfect; battery life is superb, months rather than hours. I have tried many other LED torches, including Maglite AA LED (which ate batteries and proved unreliable) but the Tritac remains the best balance of cost/performance/reliability for an every day torch for work and home. Highly recommended and hard to fault.
