  Product Information
If Gerber had settled for making just one version of the Paraframe knife, people might have been content. Because this reputable example of Framelock
Framelock
The framelock is a variant of the liner lock in which the frame functions as the spring. It is often more secure than a liner lock because it does not require as close a tolerance in manufacture.
design caught on admirably among knife lovers...making the Paraframe a mainstay of the industry. But we figured there''s no merit in being stingy, so we worked up a total of eight versions. And the people were pleased.

There is a simplicity to this knife that relates as much to function as it does to form. It''s a breeze to open. The Clip Point
Clip Point
Clip Point Blade: A blade on which the back line breaks and slants downward to produce a finer and more useful point. Also, a blade format where the top of the blade has a cutout (or "clip") at the top of the blade. The cutout is either concave or straight. Clipping the blade brings the point of the knife lower, for control. It also makes the tip sharper. Since the sharp point is one of the goals of this format, the clip is often accompanied by a false edge. This format is often combined with a good-sized curving belly, for slicing ability. The combination of a controllable, sharp point and plenty of belly makes the clip point an excellent all-around format.
blade configuration is ideal for cutting in close quarters. Openness rules the day where the handle is concerned—there''s more air than metal—so it''s quite lightweight and quite easy to keep clean.

Clip a Paraframe into your pocket, and you''re fully equipped to take care of business. Your only challenge is figuring out which one...

This is a very good concealed carry, folding knife. It's light in weight and user friendly.

Great everyday carry knife

I got one of these for xmas, almost a year ago now. There hasn't been a day that I haven't carried this knife with me. Its belt clip is very convenient; it clips right inside my coin pocket on my jeans. I use it for everything imaginable and it's still sharp.

perfect design, not so perfect execution. blade dulls rather quickly. the blade is extremly hard to open, def not a "breeze", and the clip is way too tight to be convienient. also the blade doesnt lock very easily i have to make addition effort the push the blade back to the the locking mech slide over all the way. other than that its light, and just the right size, no plastic/rubber parts to break off or wear out. maybe deployment is just too hard on the blade but theres no excuse for the over tightness of the blade and the locking mech failure.

Not too bad

I love the knife, however the body of it has some faults. The screws used to attach the frame to the clip aren't the most secure and seem to require regular tightening. Other than that the blade is awesome and holds a great edge. Overall it's a great investment.

Great Knife

They should have riveted the knife, as all the screws have fallen out, and been lost, as well as the spacers! Will NEVER buy another Gerber folding knife!

I've bought two of this model already at wal-mart. The screws seem to not hold the frame together. It seems to loosen up after regular use of cutting shrink warp off pallets on the dock. Gerber needs to put loctite on this product so that no one else has this problem.

I've owned a lot of knives in my life, and this is by far my favorite. Sturdy, light, inconspicuous, and very reliable. I noticed a lot of people saying the screws were too loose- I couldn't disagree more. I had to loosen mine a tiny bit. After that, however, perfection.

I'd bet my life on it.

This really is the best knife I have ever owned. The finish is absolutely superb, not to mention the wicked design. I absolutely love it. The price is unbeatable, and I keep saying it's the best 20 bucks I ever spent. I have used and abused this knife, by dropping it, throwing it, cutting hard material, and it's standing up to it ridiculously. It's the most solid knife around; it feels like a fixed blade because it has absolutely no play in the locked blade. They use one sided torx screws on it and no matter how much crap you put this thing through, it will not get loose at all. Buy one for you and as a gift.

good value

this is an excellent knife for the price. that said, if you use o hard you are going to have to take care of it. when the screws come loose (and if you use it hard, they will)you need only tghten them up. i have given this lnife to my nephews as their first knife, knowing that boys will be boys. they all still have their knives, and i carry one every day. you just can't beat the value.

Very Strong

Good, Durable Knife

Reviewer: Casey
I have had this knife for 2 years now and have not had a problem with it. No tightening of screws, no broken clip, no chipping of the steel, nothing. This is a very good, reliable knife. The knife is small and concealable and for the price it is unbeatable. When compared to a Spyderco which you would pay 40-100 more dollars for, I would say that the durability of the knife overall is comparable. Though the vg-10 steel of the Spyderco will maintain its sharp edge for a while longer. The action of the Gerber knife is quick and easy and it is nice that the release is on the inside so that you only have to use 1 motion to close the knife. This knife was a very good investment and I highly recommend this knife to anyone that is looking to pay a small sum for a much greater return.

Great despite its faults
02/04/2009
Reviewer: Steve
Pros: Lightweight (but not flimsy-feeling), good balance, smooth open/close after lubricating, holds its point, very sturdy, blade locks solid, good belt clip. Cons: When I first bought it it was difficult to open, and moving it felt gritty (a spray of WD-40 solved that problem permanently, even after it took a few runs in the wash). Doesn't hold its edge well. The finish is wearing off now, but that's just aesthetic. Also, the screws started coming loose, but I tightened them (had to crank down on the screws hard) and that seemed to solve it permanently as well. This is a good knife to carry, despite its faults.
