  Product Information
If Gerber had settled for making just one version of the Paraframe knife, people might have been content. Because this reputable example of Framelock
Framelock
The framelock is a variant of the liner lock in which the frame functions as the spring. It is often more secure than a liner lock because it does not require as close a tolerance in manufacture.
design caught on admirably among knife lovers...making the Paraframe a mainstay of the industry. But we figured there''s no merit in being stingy, so we worked up a total of eight versions. And the people were pleased.

There is a simplicity to this knife that relates as much to function as it does to form. It''s a breeze to open. The Clip Point
Clip Point
Clip Point Blade: A blade on which the back line breaks and slants downward to produce a finer and more useful point. Also, a blade format where the top of the blade has a cutout (or "clip") at the top of the blade. The cutout is either concave or straight. Clipping the blade brings the point of the knife lower, for control. It also makes the tip sharper. Since the sharp point is one of the goals of this format, the clip is often accompanied by a false edge. This format is often combined with a good-sized curving belly, for slicing ability. The combination of a controllable, sharp point and plenty of belly makes the clip point an excellent all-around format.
blade configuration is ideal for cutting in close quarters. Openness rules the day where the handle is concerned, there''s more air than metal,so it''s quite lightweight and quite easy to keep clean.

Clip a Paraframe into your pocket, and you''re fully equipped to take care of business. Your only challenge is figuring out which one...

Having both a 4 inch fine and a mini fine for both pocket and fishing. After a year both have broken frames and are worthless. They clain Stainless Steel but it is more like cheap pot metal. No more Gerber china made junk for me.

problems after a year

this knife was good for awhile it was my faveorite everyday carry at work, dosent keep the greatest edge but sharpens quickly, anyhoo the knife is assembled poorly the whole thing is held toghther buy one pin and a tiny screw that after time wears down from friction, i took a pin from a hardware store and did away with the screw setup, i hammerd the pin all the way through and cut off the remaining, works fine now and is actually stronger than it was.

Great Knife

I'm a retired SWAT cop. I've had my ParaFrame for a good while and I've tortured the poor thing. It has held up very, very well. I hope they don't stop making it because it is a very good knife! I have Benchmades, Emersons and all the rest but sometimes it's nice to have a knife that you can use and not worry about it if it breaks. I've used this one like that and guess what? It's taken the abuse! Good job Gerber! Keep making this knife!

I don't know what everyone else is talking about, but I've had this knife for almost four years and haven't had any problem with it. It stays extremely sharp, opens easly, and is lite and easy to carry. Maybe this isn't the Paraframe 1, thats what I've got and it has a titanium coating on it...... maybe thats it, but it's still a great knife.

If you want a well made knife, $20 won't cover it. This knife is designed for mass production and not much else beyond that. It's not that bad for being only $20 dollars...

China!

Light and nice design. Made in China ruin thing, $0.25 saving on pivot = broken in first day. Sad.
